All Done

After about 6 hours they are all done and the lobby is cleaned up.

Details

The orchids have short stems so to compensate, they are fixed to bamboo rods to be used in the arrangements.

Getting there

This was taken 90 minutes after the first picture. This is an all day process.

It's Monday...

And that means it's is time to change out the enormous flower display in the lobby. Apparently, this is done each week.

Night Market

The fruit here is amazing! Here is a fruit stand from the night market we visited on Sunday. I don't even know what some of the fruit here is!

Fish or Fowl?

From the restaurant we want to on Sunday night.

Looking Down

On everything!

And...by Night

Taipei 101...by Day

Taipei 101

You can get dizzy looking up at it.

Taking a Walk

Decided to visit Taipei 101 during the afternoon. There were tons of people walking their pint-sized pets. All of them were some form of dog, except for this guy.

Back in Taipei

This is the fiuntain/flower arrangement in the lobby of the hotel. Even of you just took the flower portion, it's still taller than I am!

Statue of...

A chicken or a flame? We couldn't decide and thought maybe it changed based on where you stood and looked at it.

Adventure Time?

This was on one entire wall of the building. It looks like the cartoon Adventure Time. I must be getting old if this is considered "fine art." :)

Fine Arts Museum

Before we went to Taipei, we spent time in Taichung. One evening we walked around the grounds of their Fine Arts Museum. It was lovely, there was music piped in to accompany you was you enjoyed the gardens.

Buffalo Bill Cody

Today we traveled to Golden, Colorado. We tried to tour the Coors plant but they are not doing tours at this time. A little googlefu and we found out Buffalo Bill Cody was buried here and has a museum. It was a great museum and we'll worth the trip.

Did you know he lived in Rochester, NY and had his kids there?

Glenwood Springs, Colorado

We had to stop for the night and found a cheap hotel in a town called Glenwood Springs. We found out that Doc Holliday was buried in town so we set out to find the grave.

Hiking up a big muddy hill in the pouring rain didn't stop is and we found not his grave but a memorial and plaque. It was a pretty neat find.

The John Brown Highway Ride

The John Brown highway connects Utah and Colorado and is a shortcut rather than taking the highway.

The trip started out great with a shot of Castle Rock. After getting higher elevation we ran into snow then the slickest mud I've ever seen. Down the cliff into Gateway was a wild muddy ride down switchbacks until the last picture you see is the Jeep as a muddy mess breaking through the pass. We may have been the last ones through the pass before it was snowed in for the year.
