Everybody hears the voices right?

So on may way home tonight to pick up Emily from school the voices said I had to go to the Restore Thrift Store. I was like no voice, I'm already late picking up Emily. Then when I was about to make the turn a strange force made me go straight which took me to the store.

Inside I browsed around until I turned a corner and bam, an original Taylorstone Cathay 7 piece dish set for $10. The epitome of mid century dishes.

It's turning into a sickness now.

Today's theme was brass. We ended up with 20 pieces of brass animals, a great vintage globe and a retrotastic Kenmore sewing machine in a perfect 60's cabinet.

It was my turn to find some 60's fabulousness to decorate the new house. Wooden friut and serving bowl. Fun!

Our other vintage finds

We got the two Danish chairs and the awesome concave table. The great Danish Teak lamp was the find of the day tho, it cost a whole $10 from the Habitat Restore.

The dining set also came with this amazing china cabinet and a buffet that's now buried in boxes.

We can barely find them a foot tall in the states and the massage parlor uses 4 foot tall trees to line their entrance.

Spent the evening getting a foot massage with the girls. For $12, it was totally worth it!

The signature dish. The owner thought his wife made the best steak and wanted others to enjoy it. They use her original recipe. It tastes like brisket.

Dinner on Thursday was at Wangsteak. The restaurant was built by the richest man in Taiwan.

On a break a few of us stepped out for some sun and air and visited a local temple across the street from the hotel. The cones you see hanging are all incense.

My dinner was Beef Four Country. Thinly sliced beef with four different things cooked in the middle. The closest we could figure is that they represented the 4 seasons. There was kiwi (spring), tomato and mozzarella (summer), mushroom (fall), roe (winter). All were good but the tomato and mozzarella were my favorite.

Wednesday's dinner was traditional Japanese tampanyaki style.

While Beck is jetsetting the world I'm working on our 50's house. Have to love these retro sinks with the crazy tile.

The tentacles of octopi breaded and cooked into balls. A local treat. Some of our more adventurous members tried it.

Went to the night market after dinner. Local college kids work here after class to earn spending money. It's a combination of food, cheap clothing, and souveniers.

Ate at a pasta place but at least got the local beer.

Somebody didn't prime before they painted.

And I get to clean up the mess. All the trim was a butter cream semi gloss that they tried to paint over.
