Painting has begun!

Painters started this morning. Emily's room and playroom need just one
more coat and my room is started.

We own a home again!

Closing went so smooth this morning that we decided to do some
furniture shopping today.

Here is our new end table and entertainment center for the living
room. It is great living in Hickory and having all this beautiful dirt
cheap furniture!

Amazing japanese restaurant

Found a great place. You don't have to sit with other people and its
very good.

Spa Day

It's a tough life being Em! Shower and then a full manicure and

Emma's B-day

Were at a B-day party of one of Emily's friends from school.

Best Friends

Emmy and her best friend Freddy Mac. She was sick today and stayed
home with Mom and Dad.

Boating Season

Today was cool but had the mechanic go over my boat for the season.
Back running like a top. Can't wait for the lake to warm up now!

Living Debt Free

Our house in PA closed yesterday so I am completely debt free for the first time since I graduated high school. That will last until May 30, when we close on our new home and go another 30 years in debt...haha.

GTA IV Special Edition

My bday present finally came. The special edition comes with the game,
a real safe deposit box with keys, a rockstar keychain, a book of art
from the game, a rockstar gym bag, and a cd with the music from the
game. I preordered from Amazon so they gave me a free real license
plate too. Time to game with my brother tonight!

We have a new home!

Well after a bit of bartering we accepted the seller's final offer. Pending a failed pest inspection or something seriously wrong with the home our closing will be May 30th. We sign the papers tonight!

The home is 2375 square feet, 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath with a 2 car garage. It is on a 1/2 acre lot, with lake views across the street. Also has deeded lake access so we own 1/45 of a lot that has a boat ramp on it for our use anytime. The ramp is just around the corner from our house. Cathedral ceilings in the main living areas and 9ft ceilings throughout. Sprinkler system, custom alarm system and whole house audio/video system built in.

We are very happy!

We ended up rescinding our offer on the house today since the seller
would not agree to our conditions on the termites. So the search
continues!

The new bed

My boss finally tipped me on a few of the really good furniture
outlets around town. Most are dealers only like where we got this bed,
and are not open to the public. Luckily my bosses wife is a dealer so
we can get in. Century Furniture bed that was discontinued. Only piece
left out of the set, retail $3200, bought for $275.

Beautiful piece of furniture, trying to talk him down in price on an
amazing entertainment armoire next.

Update

I know I haven't posted in a bit and that's because we are getting a new house! We put in the offer today and it was accepted by the seller. It is a for sale by owner deal so no agents are involved.

Home Inspection passed with just minor problems that the seller will need to fix but we hit a snag yesterday when the termite inspection failed. I have a carpenter coming today to look at the property to see what needs to be done.

Hope for the best....

Here we are celibrating victory after removing a competitors product and replacing it with our own. The best part is that I used to work for the competitor and quit after they stole 80 dollars from me!

Adventures in fire alarm work

This is my current helper. We had to crawl into a floor below giant
server racks in a computer room. Unfortunately it was about 40 degrees
down there.

Today's project

We have not painted or put handles on yet. It went pretty smoothly
though. This setup replaced our super ghetto wire rack that held most
of our food. Next step, new refridgerator!

House Hunting

It looks like our house in PA is about to sell in April so we decided to go ahead and do some house hunting. The rest of the country may be in a housing slump but Hickory is mostly uneffected. We really haven't found anything we are very interested in yet.
