A pardon
The union gave these to confederate soldiers to excuse them for shooting at them. This one comes from the wars end.
This was the best part of the museum
The picture is terrible because of reflections on the glass, but this flag was captured in battle. The guy that captured it then wrote his name and unit on it.
It's hard to tell, but he's a New Yorker. (Of course it was a New Yorker that had to commit what amounts to the ultimate sign of military disrespect. ) Maybe this is why southerners appear to hate New Yorkers more than all other forms of Yankees.
A letter from a confederate soldier to his dad
Total defeat was not that long after this letter was written. You would think he would welcome any help he could get to avoid losing the war.
J.H. Morgan's twin pistols
This is the guy that led his troops as far north as any Confederates ever made it during the war. (All the way to ohio)
One of the many cannons found around Richmond
Made right in Richmond at the Tredegar ironworks
We also visited the ironworks but photography was not allowed there. It was interesting standing right on the spot where at least half of the confederate heavy weaponry was made.

Mercedes C230 Sport
Sport, 22,600 miles, completely loaded with every option plus extras
added. It was previously owned by Nascar driver Rusty Wallaces crew
chief here in Mooresville, NC. He traded it in to get the one with the
bigger engine. Pricewise it was much less than my Jeep and comparable
in price to a 2005 used Toyota Tacoma we looked at. Beck will have fun
in it.

Horses in the river
riders that were out for the day.
Fishing with Gary
paddle with my neighbor. Day was beautiful to start but a huge storm
came up on us 1/2 mile from the takeout and we got drenched. Still a
great day away from work tho.
