Well it turns out no one in our neighborhood celebrates it here. More
candy for me!

First Frost

Had our first frost this morning and it was 37 degrees out. Almost
time to put the hardtop back on the Jeep.

My Jeep Girl

Emily can pick out a Jeep a mile away when we are driving. All other vehicles are just cars to her. She's going to be a Jeep girl when she grows up!

Katie babysat Emily tonight (thanks Kate) and dressed her up in a costume she had as a kid. Looks like Emily had fun!

The Power of Wasabi

We went out for sushi last night and got into a wasabi eating contest (I stayed out of it). Here is one pic of the result. We all had a great time!

Rain!

Didn't think that I would be so happy to see rain but it has been months since we have seen any. It is supposed to rain the rest of the week.

Reading with Mom

Em skipped over the nursery rhymes and is catching up on the latest copy of Esquire magazine. It was the fall fashion one and she was choosing her fall wardrobe. :)

Scott and Sam's new car

Yesterday the battle was waged and I'm glad to report that we won the war. It took all day and Scott playing "Eye of the Tiger" and the "Rocky" theme song on his cell phone while the dealer and I battled back and forth.

But, we ended up with a good deal on a new 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer for them.

Southern Moonpies

While browsing through my welcome guide to the south that every Yankee is issued as soon as we change our license over, I came to the chapter about Moonpies. Apparently along with Bojangles and hushpuppies these are considered a southern delicacy. Somehow, I must have missed the paragraph on how these must be combined with RC cola to break down the wax consistency so you can actually swallow the thing.

So here are my flavor reviews:
Chocolate - almost edible, like chewing chocolate wax lips
Vanilla - Ditto
Banana - not good, no visible banana flavor, maybe RC cola will
release the flavor. I am not chancing a second try tho.
Strawberry (as pictured) - completely unedible, closest definable flavor is Lady Stetson perfume. Luckily did not reach my rear taste buds as I was able to eject from my mouth before that. Wax build up on teeth kept perfume smell present.

Summary - All Yankees need to steer clear of these, we are not programmed to enjoy these things.

My Favorite Chinese Restaurant

Work was crazy today and I ended up getting out real late so needed a quick dinner. Em loves white rice and cashew chicken.

Why does every Chinese restaurant look exactly the same inside? Also, they don't serve sesame chicken in Taiwan....

Dora the Explorer

Emily has a few shows that she really likes but she is really into Dora right now. Problem is the show drives me crazy. What happened to all those great cartoons when we were kids. Now you have to learn something on every show. I miss GI Joe, Transformers, He-Man and Thundercats.

My Wallet

I lost my wallet on our vacation to Tampa the weekend before last. Luckily US Airways found it on the plane and shipped it to me.

I never thought I would say this but thank you US Airways!

Sabres Win

Sabres won a great game last night and our friend Katie was at the game.

Night Night

Emily got invited to her first friends birthday party last week and we accepted today. Hasan told his Mom that Emily was coming and she was going to bring him a lollipop. Emily can't wait until Sat!

This Old House

Kate sent us a picture of the house today on her way back home. We got good news last week that the couple renting our house received an offer on their house. As soon as their deal is complete they will be buying ours. A year and a half since moving....

Fun at the Park

We dropped the Subaru off for service tonight (still the best car I've ever owned) and we decided to stop at the park on the way home.

Beautiful day today so we went out and blew some bubbles. Later on we will head to the park since it is such a nice day.

The Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch today to get our pumpkins for carving. Emily picked out 2 small pumpkins and Mom & Dad got some big ones. Weather was beautiful in the mid-70's today.

Mr. Potato Head

Who doesn't love Mr. Potato Head? I remember having one as a kid and when I found one on clearance at amazon I couldn't resist. Em loves to change out the eyes and try to stick the pieces on Dad. I'm her real life potato :)
