Last Steuben Sale

They were even selling the pictures off the walls. We couldn't pass this one up since we have one of the apples in our collection. We were able to pick up a few other pieces also.

Our score

Massi's was closing out their plants for the year so we ended up with over $700 worth of plants for under $100 dollars.

I've been digging holes all day :(

The Dining Room

We've been working hard the last week painting and assembling the dining room. We will be changing the light out this week and it should be finished. One down, many to go.

Emily found her costume today.

First Grade

Emily is a big girl this year - 1st grade! Here she is at school this morning, ready to learn.

Look what I found...

Under 3 layers of paint. I put a new thermostat in yesterday and found the original walnut trim underneath. So I decided to strip this board since I was going to replace it with wood and boom, original walnut trim.

I think we will be stripping some more paint off to see what we can uncover.

Now this is a unique house.

Sad News

I don't know if anyone has seen it but Steuben glass is going out of business before the end of the year. Corning sold it off a few years ago and unfortunately the new company could not make it profitable. I am disappointed that Corning did not step up and keep it as Steuben glass was known everywhere.
